Art for Nature Lovers and Dreamers
Joanne Berardi is an impressionist painter based in Charlotte, North Carolina. Her work is inspired by the beauty she finds in nature and life. Each piece she creates is meant to capture the joy of a light-filled world and the emotion it evokes. Her work includes still life, landscape, and abstract florals - often painting her florals from imagination. She lets the paint speak to her and thoroughly enjoys the process of adding layers to her work.
“Our family has lived in different parts of the country and because of this, I find beauty everywhere - even in unexpected places! I try to capture the feeling of seeing light, shadows, and colors in unusual locations. Painting abstract florals is therapeutic and a way to tap into my imagination. I paint colors on canvas and see different images and shapes - it’s an organic process. What I try to convey is the joy of seeing nature, such as sunlight flickering on the leaves and deep colors within the shadows. I try to paint the magic of nature whether studying florals or landscapes. Each piece is meant to capture a memory or evoke emotion. ”
Joanne has been influenced by various artists. She studied painting at the Crealde School of Art in Winter Park, Florida. Painting in acrylic and oil, she studied under Jed Dorsey, Dianna Shyne, and Aimee Erickson through Acrylic University. She is a member of Aimee Erickson’s Paint Club and a member of the Guild of Charlotte Artists.
